Ministries at Living Word

Father’s in the Field

Mission:

To rekindle and establish the spirit of boys who have been abandoned by their fathers; mentoring them one-on-one in life skills through outdoor activities, and by sharing a Christian understanding of our Heavenly Father’s love and sacrifice for His children.

Defend the cause of the Fatherless – Isaiah 1:17

Purpose of the program:

Fathers in the Field was established with the deep conviction to answer God’s call to defend the cause of the fatherless through the provision of godly mentoring fathers. The ill effects of growing up without a father upon the boy, the family and our society are profound. We are confident that through faithful commitment to a fatherless boy his future will be much brighter and have the distinct privilege of introducing him to the Heavenly Father and to His Son, Jesus Christ.

Fathers in the Field works to achieve 3 important goals:

  • Faith: Demonstrate to boys that they have a Father in Heaven who created, loves and cares for them, and will never forsake them.
  • Fatherhood: Demonstrate fatherly love and commitment, to repair broken spirits and prepare the foundation for future fatherhood.
  • Forgiveness: Share the need for boys to forgive the failings of their earthly fathers, as our Heavenly Father forgives His children in Christ.

Summary of the Living Word Church (LWC) program:

LWC seeks to pair up men from the church (“Mentor Fathers”) with fatherless boys (“Field Buddies”). The Mentor Fathers and Field Buddies meet four times a month, and they work together to serve others, worship the Lord, and (most importantly) grow an unshakeable faith in our Heavenly Father, who will never abandon His children.

Participation in the program has no cost. We seek boys aged 7 to 17, who urgently need male role models. Participants have a three-year commitment (one year at a time) to preserve constancy. LWC Mentor Fathers are background-checked and approved by LWC leadership.

LWCs program activity is logged on our social media pages:

Ministries We Support

Streetlights Bible

Streetlights is a ministry of Creative Communicators called to intentionally engage global urban culture with the Gospel of Jesus Christ by producing, translating, teaching, and proclaiming God’s Word, so all can understand. Our identity and call are founded on the belief that God’s Word is transformational.

International Justice Mission

Children, women and men face the reality of modern slavery, exploitation and abuse every day because people in power prey on the vulnerabilities that poverty creates. We’re on a mission to partner with local communities to build a more just world where everyone can expect to be safe and protected.

Poor Bishop Hooper

Both hailing from small towns in central Kansas, we began writing, recording, and performing together after our marriage in 2013. What began as a duo, weaving together a patchwork of melodies atop an upright bass and a guitar, has since blossomed into numerous, multi-faceted expressions of music, art, and ministry. Though we still often perform classic covers and simple tunes in simple places, we’ve been blessed to develop a vibrant musical ministry – ranging from full band, heavy mood moments like that in The Golgotha Experience, to the string and vocal laden scores of Firstborn. Our most recent project was our most ambitious yet. EveryPsalm began January 1, 2020, and ended November 9th, 2022, releasing a psalm-based song each week… until every psalm was sung again.

We’ve shared music and conversation with thousands around the country, in the largest of concert halls to the smallest of living rooms. Our hearts for the Creator and the endless, bountiful inspiration he provides are ever growing. In turn, our creative work follows his lead.

Sime & Suzana Petrovski

We are Macedonians, live in Skopje, Macedonia.
After five years of working with the Jesus Film Project, (September, 2002)God called us to start working full-time with the campus ministry with Campus Crusade for Christ. He gave us a new goal and a new vision of how to WIN students through evangelism, BUILD them in their faith, and SEND them to go out and serve God.

Since 2016, we start with a ministry of Church Movements.
The key role of Church Movements is to help fulfill the Great Commission through multiplication of biblical churches and faith communities. We fulfill our role by working together in the Body of Christ and by making the following core contributions.

Inspire / Working together within the Body of Christ we desire to inspire the Body of Christ to fulfill the Great Commission in this generation.

Maximize / With dedicated people, effective strategies and a vast array of tools, we seek to contribute it all towards the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

Mobilize / We desire to inspire the body of Christ to work together to win, build, and send multiplying leaders toward the shared vision of seeing God’s Great Commission fulfilled.

Multiply / CRU/CM has developed a training process called MC2 – “Multiplying Churches and Communities.” This process equips people to initiate, build and multiply faith communities.

Despite some incremental changes in the Western church, our churches remain marked by a lack of missional imagination, creativity, and advancement. The predominant strategy of most churches continues to be the largely outdated European form of church that accompanied Christendom. In fact, many evangelical churches are stuck in some variation of the church of Christendom brought about by church growth theory and practice. The problem is that these forms of church have harvested all the fruit they could, and we now need to discover a methodology to reach higher up the tree to gather the fruit that has been left untouched. Because of this cultural captivity, we are very much in need of brave leaders to revolutionize the church and break free from our current thinking.
